Matt就读哈佛大学新闻系，毕业在即却被开除。只因学校搜查时Matt被室友栽赃，那个室友是个瘾君子，在Matt的铺位藏有毒品，且父亲是议员，反而有恃无恐，丢给Matt一万美金抚恤金后一切如故，反倒是Matt灰溜溜地离开学校。他试图联系新闻社的父亲，可那老爹常年在海外始终是电话留言，终归作罢。Matt拿着那一万美金去了伦敦，姐姐嫁到那里不久，不想刚踏上英伦三岛就遇到英国姐夫的弟弟，Pete的职业是历史教师，同时也是西汉姆联队(Westham United)的足球流氓团体GSE的领袖(GSE--Green street elites)
就像人们提到足球暴力，既会想到足球流氓，提到足球流氓，即会在前面添上形容词英国一样，从美国过来的Matt是Yankee，看得是美式足球，多少对英国足球暴力吃不消。但与Pete相处的一天中，他被这些有血有肉的球迷的精神所感动，Pete说“我们不是足球流氓，是一个Firm，是一个公司，一个团队”，但我觉得“i admire their standing together as one blood although the cause of their standing is not really an honorable cause. lol”(我羡慕他们兄弟般荣誉精神尽管事实上不是那么光彩)
影片最后Pete被同样来自伦敦东区Millwall(米尔沃)的球迷活生生地打死，Matt回到哈佛，寻找他清白的证据，就像他所说的，因为参与了大洋彼岸的Firm(公司)，使他迸发了信心，没什么做不到了
老实说，我始终是位于伦敦北区 Tottenham Hotspur(托特纳姆热刺) 的球迷， Westham United(西汉姆联) 位于贫苦的伦敦东区， 既然是同城冤家(rival)，本该仇视才对， 可是看了这部 make me feel up 的影片之后， 喜欢上了西汉姆联的队歌

英国球会大多沉积百年，随着时间的推移，球员会变、打法会变、战术会变、规则会变，甚至联赛制度；但始终不变的是衷心的球迷，就像若干年前对我的一次触动，一支已经确定降级的球队Leichester(莱切斯特)在那个赛季的最后一场比赛，球迷起立含泪看完全场，事实上之后的若干年再也没有在顶级赛事看到这支球队的身影；但我知道，球迷是世袭的，再若干年之后当你牵着儿子的手步入球场的时候，你完全可以自豪的对他说“你父亲年轻的时候始终为Leichester自豪”
影片中，Pete曾对Matt说，差不多每支英国的球队都有自己的Firm(足球流氓团体), 有的甚至拥有两个以上的Firms，我在Google上键下"hooligans in uk"，结果和Pete说的一样
